Rodeo

The first Act Belong Commit Countryman Show ‘N’ Rodeo was held on September 17th 2011, as part of the week-long celebrations for the Supreme Australian Sheep Dog Championships. The event incorporated family entertainment and live music, attracting over 1000 visitors from Dowerin and surrounding areas.

Thanks to the success of the first event, Dowerin Events Management planned for another Rodeo 18 months later on March 2nd 2013, which was renamed the Act Belong Commit Dowerin Rodeo. This event attracted in excess of 2500 people from across the state, with a full day of Rodeo action and live music the key attractions. A sponsorship deal with Westpac Bank resulted in a performance by country music legend Lee Kernaghan, supported by the Wolfe Brothers, which was no doubt the major draw card. But it wasn’t the only drawcard, with a range of exhibits, equestrian activities and family entertainment keeping the crowds amused from 10am.

A great number of contributors and sponsors made the event possible including: Act Belong Commit, Healthway, Westpac Bank, Countryman, Radio West, Shire of Dowerin, Avon Valley Gazette, D&D Transport. The Avon Valley Advocate, Breakaway Stud, Ozcan Promotions, Water Corporation, TR Homes, Mia Davies- The Nationals WA, Auto Trader and the Community Road Safety Grants Program.

DEM have no further Rodeos planned at this stage.
