Wearable Art from Farm Junk

WORTHLESS junk lying around WA farms will soon become one lucky designers free ticket to New Zealand, as the 2012 Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days Ag Art Wear Competition kicks off this week.
Artists and designers from across WA are invited to take part in this unique contest which challenges entrants to create a piece of wearable art using only agricultural materials.
The competition created by the NZ National Agricultural Fieldays not only offers designers the opportunity for publicity and experience, but encourages them to defy traditional design elements and expose their creative abilities.

Australian Touring Car Champion and Bathurst winner Allan Moffat is returning to Dowerin this August, to be part of the 2011 Dowerin GWN7 Machinery Field Days.
The renowned motoring legend was a guest at the 2010 Theo’s Run Motoring Show, and has since kept in close contact with the Board at Dowerin Events Management, and members of the Dowerin Car Club.

ARTenthusiasts planning to enter the 2011 Act Belong Commit Ag Art Wear competition have until Friday to get their entries in.
Garments must be received by Dowerin Events Management no later than Friday the 15th of July to be accepted into prelim judging, to go in the running to win an all expenses paid trip to New Zealand, or thousands of dollars in cash.
